The Hairstyle...They Had to Touch

Yes, I loved this look--I wasn't alone.  Check out my last post to see what I mean.  ((Wash-N-Go))

Now you know I have to put a pic up that really shows of the kinky coily goodness:

It finally happened...

Oh, wait, my bad, no one asked.  Three, count 'em, 3 of my coworkers came at me fingers pinching at the air and touched my kinky coils-n-curls.  I saw one coming at me, in slow motion with that look in his eyes, and I said when he was an arm's length away, "Don't touch my hair."  Hmmmph, well he did, and immediately two other lady coworkers appeared as if from out of nowhere, and I just felt fingers in my hair. Oh the HORROR!!!  *Queue' the music from the Psycho shower scene as I relive the moment in my mind*

OK, so there's humor in this post, but only because I like my co-workers.  But really, I didn't want anyone to touch my hair.  And yes, you KNOW when someone is about to touch your hair.  It's the look in their eyes.  It's like they are hypnotized by the glory of your crown.  Really, it's not their fault...they cannot resist it's allure.  I was even told, "it's soft like a little lamb."  Okay, so now I have to go and stroke a little lamb to do a true to life comparison, but I guess it feels like unprocessed wool.  I hope the little lamb won't mind--would that make me a hypocrite?  LOL--Any how...I always laugh when I hear the stories of unwanted hair molestation...now I have one of my own.  I'm sure it won't be the last time someone touches/asks to touch my hair.  But my answer will ALWAYS, emphatically be: "NOOOOOOO!" But I'll smile when I say it, maybe.

4C hair has no definition!? Oh yeah? Check this out!

I'm going to keep it short and sweet...don't believe the hype 4C curls "POP" and "BANG" with the rest of 'em!
It's unfortunate that my camera couldn't fully capture the sheer fabulous-ness of my tiny spirals...they looked even better (more defined) in person.

The style was created from the same blow-out in my last post.  I've been moiturizing it ever night with water and my leave in conditioner and re-twisting it, either in four big twists (2x2), or six medium twists (2X3).  Either way my hair is always a little stretched in the morning.  To get the shrunken look from today I applied gel to the left side of my head and slicked it all to the right side as far as my hair would extend and used 4 big bobby pins to secure the sides and my small black styling comb to secure the front to create a faux bang.  I was trying to achieve this look by Ms.Vcharles, but my twists were definitely less defined--so I added water and leave in to tame it a bit.  It ended up far more shrunken that I'd aimed for, but it worked out perfectly because my coils made me smile today--once I got used to them.  (From nappy gurl woes to Whoa, look at my coils!!!)  *I did not wear the scarf to work with this particular style...I used it to replace the styling combs and bobby pins from earlier.

100% Natural!!

So I did it!  I cut my relaxed ends Saturday, February 18th, 2012.  Was I a case of nerves, or what?  At the same time I was ready to let them go.  I actually got it cut while at home visiting my parents and little brother.  I went to my old stylist to have it done.

Blow-out, puffed out.

LENGTH CHECK, (impromptu)  I will likely do another with better angles and less cropping...let's just say it was late, and I didn't have my best "face" on.
